My Turkish Name

No Comments on My Turkish Name

One day, I was sitting with friends in cafe and we start to discuss, that we need the Turkish names. It is not easy to choose one from many unusual names. My friends are offering a new and new one, but I shaking my head – I just don’t like any of them. I had a long time, until I make the peace with my real name; I had heard and felt it different in every period of my life. Perhaps, not everyone likes the name they have, until after some time, there is no more meaning, how people call you. When friend asked me, what the name meaning I want, I don’t know that to answer. It’s hard to decide – do I want to be more intelligent, or more beautiful. In Turkey all names have meaning and people believed that, the name given to the newborn can lead to this fate.

In the municipality of Izmir – works are going well. I had opportunity to meet with the mayor’s wife. Seeing a good looking and ambitious woman – I didn’t know what to expect, she probably doesn’t speak English and will not be able to get to know her at all. And suddenly, my eyes lit up, and the opinion has changed completely. Mayor’s wife is amazing, she speaks English very well and she is a doctor of internal organs, very feminine and intelligent. On that day, there was a meeting with hard-life women, she gave a lecture and shared advice about, how to improve the functioning of the internal organs. She left a great impression. Now, I’m very curious to meet the mayor, I hope, I will have this opportunity.

At the beginning of the winter season, I felt in stores that, something is missing here. So, where are Christmas garlands and Christmas trees? Where are Christmas songs and preparations? Here, even mandarins don’t mean waiting time for the Merry Christmas time. But, it is true that, Muslims do not celebrate Catholic holidays. It’s partly sad that, they do not feel the most beautiful spirit of the winter celebration, but on the other hand, it is much easier to wait for the New Year when the surroundings doesn’t make you to think about the power of the gifts. I’m very waiting Christmas, the memories of the past year and the looking to where and how to make something good. I was more inspired by the festive moods, when I saw the Christmas trees appeared in Lithuanian cities. The beautiful decoration of my hometown – is the perfect green Christmas tree. Perfect designed to show the true spirit of Christmas, this is about simplicity and sincerity. The natural desire to be the best in every opportunity and share what do you have the best. Finally, there is no need for anyone to prove anything, and that green glowing sincerity invites you to enjoy the miracles.

How do you measure, when you’re a good person and when do you go wrong? The symbol of truth – Themis, is shown blindfolded and holding scales and sword. In Turkey, the swords are symbolized the independence and freedom. December is a special time, when we are measuring less and doing more better. It is not necessary to leave the country or change names, for to become better and happier. In any names can call us, but it will not change, what the work already done and the words spoken. We can believe that, the New Year will give us a new chance to change again. We can believe that, our destiny is already determined. We can believe in anything, but let us turn in ourselves and make sure that, you are honest and open to yourselves. At the end of the year, let’s try to be sincere – it is the best gift.
