Meditation

Earlier, I mentioned, in municipality, where I volunteer, we take English conversation courses. There I met woman, who meditates. She is retired, lives alone, loves traveling and active leisure. Five years ago, she discovered meditation, when she saw a poster about it. A year later, she went to India to get more inspiration and skills. I dared to ask her, how life changed in this five years. She smiled and said, her life changed a lot, she feels much better and she not need anymore any faith. Muslim faith, like all other religions, closes us into “the cages”. Religion tells us, how we have to and cannot to do, what to think and to feel. Of course, religion answers a lot of questions and the power of faith helps to survive the difficult moments. But all this is control and manipulation. My friend doesn’t need the control of faith because, she finds all the answers in her heart. She said that, now she is much calmer and don’t lose power and energy in angry and negative thoughts. She understands the world in a different way and she is much happier. Change is never too late.

When do you feel happy?

All of this is about our thoughts. If we start our day with sad and angry thoughts, we think about scary things and in the end of the day, we do not understand – where is our lucky? How we can feel lucky, if all time we just think about negatives thoughts. How we can have what we want, if we are afraid to think about it constantly? We can find a lot of different types of mood in Turkey. This country is not example, where all people are super happy and smile all the time. In Izmir are living more than 3 million people. What is a possibility to meet one people, who inspire you to look in different ways, who say – it’s time to change. It’s time to meditate. All answers come if you are not afraid to ask questions.

Religion will never disappear. It’s not impossible to destroy the house of prayer, because they are the biggest proof of the great power of art and humanity. We will not remove religion from ourselves, because we grow up with Sunday prayers and a sense of repentance. It is never too late to start looking answers in yourself, it is never too late to trust your own energy and thoughts, it is never too late to forget the feeling of anger and jealousy. It is never too late to open door of the cage and feel free, to start explore world more than we event think about it. Meditation is about to release bad, painful and useless things. Meditation is self-listening. It is not necessary to forget your religion if we do not want it, we are free as much as we allow ourselves. Let’s be ourselves, live without the ruthlessness of conscience and find true peace in our hearts.
